Buy Or Sell Your Home Around Columbus, OH

Whitehall, Ohio Real Estate & Homes for Sale

Whitehall offers an established east-side Columbus location, a strong collection of parks, recognizable postwar neighborhoods, and quick access to downtown, the airport, Easton, and major employment corridors. Its compact size makes community destinations easy to reach, while the housing market offers options at a lower median price than many nearby suburbs.

I help buyers and sellers understand Whitehall’s different housing types—from classic postwar ranches and Cape Cods to twin singles, townhomes, and renovated properties. Knowing the history and construction patterns of each neighborhood helps with pricing, inspections, improvements, and resale planning.

Whitehall History and Housing Character

Whitehall’s modern identity was shaped by aviation and rapid postwar growth. Norton Field, located in present-day Whitehall, was dedicated in 1923 and served as Columbus’s first airport. After World War II, returning veterans and the demand for housing transformed the area; by the early 1950s, Whitehall was one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.

That growth created neighborhoods with distinctive mid-century character. English Village and Parklawn Manor introduced twin singles and townhouses, while Norton Field included prefabricated single-family homes. Elsewhere in the city, buyers will find brick ranches, Cape Cods, bungalows, split-levels, and updated traditional homes on established streets.

Parks and Outdoor Recreation

Whitehall maintains seven parks with more than 115 acres of green space. Whitehall Community Park is the flagship: its 60 acres include walking and nature trails, an 18-hole disc golf course, a natural amphitheater, and canoe and kayak access to Big Walnut Creek. The park is also home to a YMCA facility with fitness and wellness programming.

John Bishop Park includes athletic fields, playground space, an amphitheater, and a reservable outdoor rink. Norton Park, Lamby Lane Park, and the city’s other neighborhood parks provide additional places for recreation, community events, and everyday outdoor time.

Shopping, Dining, and Location

East Broad Street is Whitehall’s principal commercial corridor, with restaurants, stores, services, and convenient connections into Columbus and Reynoldsburg. John Glenn Columbus International Airport is just minutes away, while Easton Town Center, Bexley, downtown Columbus, and Interstate 270 are all within an easy drive.

This location can be especially useful for buyers who want a short route to east-side and central Columbus employers without giving up a residential neighborhood setting.

Whitehall City Schools

Whitehall City Schools serves the community. The district includes Whitehall-Yearling High School, Rosemore Middle School, Beechwood Elementary, Etna Road Elementary, Kae Avenue Elementary, and the C. Ray Williams Early Childhood Center.

Whitehall Housing Market Snapshot

For the three months ending in May 2026, Whitehall’s median sale price was approximately $215,000 across all home types, according to Redfin housing-market data. Renovation level, property type, and proximity to parks or major corridors can create meaningful differences between individual sales.
