History: Obetz was originally founded in 1838 as a stop on a stagecoach route. Originally called Obetz Junction, the village was also close to a railroad stop, which helped the rural community survive and grow into the mid-19th century. Later, Obetz became a suburb of metropolitan Columbus (link to page), Ohio.
